About
I develop techniques to observe atmospheric aerosols and clouds from space, with applications including air quality, climate analysis, forecasting, and hazard monitoring. My areas of expertise include radiative transfer modelling, algorithm development and implementation, and data set validation. Finally, I use and help others to use these data sets to answer cutting-edge scientific questions. I publish this research in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals, and prepare other documentation such as data set user guides.
Other foci include remote sensing of land/water surface properties, aerosol microphysical and optical properties, and application of appropriate statistical methods and machine learning to Earth Science problems. I am continually striving to expand my skillset.
Research interests
Satellite-based remote sensing of the atmosphere (aerosols and clouds) and surface properties. Algorithm development and evaluation. Statistical methods in Earth science. Machine learning.
