About
Dr. Caterina Mogno joined the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Laboratory at NASA Goddard as postdoctoral researcher in 2023, as part of the UMBC Goddard Earth Science and Technology and Research (GESTAR-II). Her educational background is in Theoretical Physics, and she holds a PhD in Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Edinburgh, UK (2023). During her PhD, she was also a visiting graduate at the University of Michigan (Spring 2022).
Research interests
Dr. Caterina Mogno is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Laboratory, as part of the Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR-II) consortium. Her research integrates atmospheric modeling, satellite remote sensing, airborne measurements and ground-based measurements to improve aerosol representation and prediction in NASA's GEOS Earth System Model.
Her work also supports NASA field campaigns and applied research using GEOS.
She also serves as a trainer for NASA's Applied Remote Sensing Training Program (ARSET), contributing to capacity building and knowledge transfer of NASA Earth science data and products for Health and Air Quality.
