Professor of the Practice of CSEE; UPD 2014-2019; joined UMBC in 2008 after 33 years with Aeronautical Research and Development organizations of Honeywell and its predecessor companies; chair of RTCA SC-222 2008-2021; 2018 UMBC College of Engineering and Information Technology Award for Teaching Excellence. 2020 University System of Maryland Board of Regents Award for Teaching Excellence. 2022 Diane Lee Award, 2023 UMBC Alumni Outstanding Faculty Award; UMBC Presidential Teaching Professor, 2025-2028

Communication and coding theory, radio frequency interference to safety critical aeronautical radios.
