M.A. /Ph.D. in English Literature with distinction from University of Maryland; B.A. Carnegie Mellon University (double major and minor in theatre), with honors. Publications primarily on Shakespeare, the early modern Bible, early modern women and religious texts. Writing also include production notes for Shakespeare and other plays. Over twenty years as Dramaturg for Folger Theatre, D.C.; also work in professional theatre as actor.

Shakespeare and performance, Early Modern Bible, Biblical Studies, Women and the Bible, Yiddish Literature, 17th-century women's Embroidery / Textiles as Text, Early Modern Women' Writers, Jewish American Literature, Performance Studies.
