About
I am an associate research scientist at NASA-GSFC and UMBC, working as a mission support scientist of NASA’s premier satellite mission: Swift. I have over 15 years of research experience in astrophysics, with nearly 20 first author publications in Nature Astronomy, ApJ and MNRAS.
Research interests
My research interests span a large range, mostly focussing on dynamics and energetics of particles near supermassive black holes. It also spans Swift Mission support activities and finding new ways to augment/help/assist mission operations in real time.
Teaching interests
I have supervised Master's thesis students at Queen's University Belfast, UK, and also at UMBC. Also I have supervised Master's thesis student at UMBC (June 2021-Feb 2022). I have supervised a post-doc Ritesh Ghosh (Aug 2022- Sept 2023) and Dev sadaula (March 2024 - present)
