About

I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Prior to joining UMBC, I served as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky in 2022, under the supervision of Dr. Tingting Yu. I also hold an M.S. (2013) and a B.Sc. (2011) in Computer Science from the University of Dhaka.

Research interests

My research is in the field of Software Engineering, with the overarching goal of developing methods and tools that improve the autonomy, efficiency, security, and usability of computer systems. I am particularly interested in the challenges of complex software applications, especially in concurrent and distributed systems. To address these challenges, I apply techniques from data mining, natural language processing, generative AI, and program analysis.

Teaching interests

My teaching interests focus on core areas of computer science and information systems, including algorithms and data structures, software engineering, structured systems analysis and design, and program analysis. I am also enthusiastic about teaching cutting-edge topics related to software engineering. At UMBC, I have taught Structured Systems Analysis and Design, and I recently developed a new course, Software Engineering with Generative AI, which I am teaching this semester.
