Research interests
Biomaterials & Biomechanics - improving artificial joints and understanding their performance and failure mechanics; understanding the development of cardiovascular disease from the changes in vascular structure/function relationships.
Engineering Education - how to enhance student learning and retention and graduation rates.
Materials - mechanics of materials and failure/strengthening mechanisms; fatigue, fracture, and wear; developing new surfaces to improve tribological performance.
Teaching interests
Both undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanics of materials, materials science, bioengineering, biomaterials, biomechanics. I also have strong interest in teaching STEM subjects to non-STEM students
