Annual Giving is UMBC’s annual fundraising effort encouraging alumni, families, friends, faculty, staff, and students to stay connected to UMBC through philanthropy.

Annual Giving sustains the excellence of UMBC’s colleges and programs, supports the University’s annual operating budget, and helps keep a Retriever education accessible to all. Fund for UMBC

The Fund for UMBC helps prepare students to navigate ever-changing circumstances in the world, and to do so with intention, innovation, and engagement. Whether it is through outstanding innovations in course development and curriculum, recruiting and retaining excellent faculty and supporting their research, or helping students build deep connections with leaders in their fields, the Fund for UMBC is the foundation for what sets a UMBC education apart.

Retriever Club

Contributions can be allocated to the Athletics General Fund or directly to one of our spirit groups, club sports, or 17 Division 1 varsity sports teams. All gifts underwrite scholarships for our 400+ student-athletes, team travel, wellness initiatives, and equipment needs. When alumni and fans come together to give back, Retriever athletics moves forward!

Retriever Essentials

Retriever Essentials is a collaborative initiative of students, faculty, and staff at UMBC dedicated to addressing basic-needs insecurities, especially food insecurity, within our campus community. In the 2024 – 2025 academic year, donors contributed $29,248 to help tackle food insecurity, enabling Retriever Essentials to distribute 36,139 pounds of food to students in need. Your support makes this impact possible, join us in continuing to fight food insecurity at UMBC.
