Grammy Award-winning music producer, mixer, songwriter, arranger, musician, and finisher Ken Lewis will discuss his wide-ranging career in this presentation. With 166 Gold records, Lewis’s work has contributed to the success of global superstars including Taylor Swift, BTS, Kanye, Drake, NF, Khalil Fong, Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Vybz Kartel, NewJeans, Assi El Hallani, Mark Ronson, and Bruno Mars.

The Livewire 16: We the People new music festival celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States and the composers and musicians who helped share our musical landscape. Through concerts and other events, Livewire celebrates the innovators, the brave, and the experimental, celebrating artists who forge new directions, challenge barriers, and open doors. This year, the newRUCKUS ensemble and the Zohn Collective present three evenings of music by Kenji Bunch, Raven Chacon, Chen Yi, Viet Cuong, Brittany Green, Lou Harrison, Edgar Meyer, Daniel Pesca, Steve Reich, Frederic Rzewski, Gabriella Smith, and Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon.

The Department of Music presents the UMBC Faculty String Sextet in a performance of two of the keystone Romantic works for string ensemble — the String Sextet No. 2 by Johannes Brahms, and the String Sextet “Souvenir de Florence” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
